Goederen Ruilen website

This exchange website is our first project based on the jRome framework. Users can swap or sell goods on-line or give them away so the goods get a second life. GoederenRuilen (Goods Exchange / Swap Shop) is first and foremost a showcase of the possibilities of the jRome framework, but it has its social functions: it promotes swapping, reduces the mountains of rubbish and makes people aware of the issues created by waste as well as challenging over consumption of goods in our throw-away society. We are still developing these ideas before we launch the website.
We use the Agile development methodology for this.

The website was developed in c# .net 3.0 making use of our jRome framework.
Search technology plays a major part in this project. We chose an open-source solution, the Apache Solr Enterprise Server using the Lucene query. This search engine takes care of all requests within the website and supports all possible queries (filtering, fuzzy matching, synonyms and lemmatisation, spell checker, etc).
